AMERICAN TRIBUTE RIDE PLANS PROGRESSING

American Tribute Ride Chair, Ron Naab, recently announced that the 2022 event has had some more wonderful co-sponsors step forward with either monetary or in-kind donations:

Reliant Fire Apparatus, Slinger                                        Uncle Larry’s Rustic Inn, Hartford

Iggie’s Acre Pure Maple Syrup, Slinger

The committee is still accepting donations, anyone or company that would like to support this fund raising event can contact Ron Naab [262/716/7292 or atrchair@gmail.com].

Over the years our committee has been able to raise $150,000.00 that has been distributed to—

Wisconsin Fire & EMS Memorial                                      Captain John Mason Suicide Prevention

Wisconsin Summer Camp for Youth Burn Survivors  Honor Flights

Wisconsin Concerns of Police Survivors                         Fischer House-Milwaukee VA

Camp American Legion                                                        Ignite the Spirit

Registration forms are on-line [www.americantributeride.com] and on Facebook.  Pre-registration saves money and helps with planning to be sure we have food and other items in line for all to participate.  The committee has decided to close pre-registrations by July 15.  It is hoped that this will eliminated confusion with late arriving pre-registrations for our staff working registrations.

We are allowing participants and non-participants to support our efforts to honor veterans by donating fund to buy a meal for veteran that visits the closing ceremony at Rome.  The cost is $10.00 per meal for a veteran that joins the group at Rome.  Any excess fund is given to The Captain John D. Mason Veteran Peer Outreach Program.  This program is supported by the Medical College of Wisconsin and the Milwaukee Veterans Administration.

The committee has developed a route and has had a trial run done recently to be sure that it is a safe and scenic route to follow.  We will continue to drive the route to verify where to have road blocks and figured out the timing.

This year’s American Tribute Ride on Saturday, July 23rd, will begin at Richfield Fire Company Station #2 on Hubertus Road.   Our lunch stop will be at the Merton Fire Department and then the convoy will move onto Kettle Moraine Fire District/North Prairie Station.  After North Prairie the ride will travel to the Fort Atkinson Fire Department. The fund raising event will be ending in Rome (Jefferson County).  The Rome stop will include handing out door prizes, an evening meal and a meaningful memorial service.

The committee invites the departments that have suffered the loss of a brother or sister in the Line of Duty [tragedy or medical condition].  Family members are also encouraged to attend as they will have a special part of the memorial service.

Some of the committee will be present at the Wisconsin State Fire Chiefs Association annual conference in Green Bay.  We look forward to meeting up with you.  Ask us about a gift we have for you as a show of our appreciation of your support.
