The planning for the 2018 American Tribute Ride is well underway, ride chair, Ron Naab, proudly announced the location of a new starting point.  “The 2018 ride will begin at the Forest Junction fire department in Brillion on July 28, 2018”.  He also said “what an honor to work with and thank you to the Hollandtown Fire Department for their offer to be part of the ride”.  He went on to say hopefully in the future we can collaborate with them to bring the ride there.

The Forest Junction Fire Department and its members put up a very moving display for 9-11 every year.  The department members have agreed they will do the same for the ride, less the 3,000 flags.  We have attached a few pictures for your perusal.  “What a neat way to start our American Tribute Ride, which the name comes from the memorial flag that the Gear Up Foundation, our sponsoring agency, has” said Ann Naab, co-chair.

From Forest Junction the ride will rumble to the Calumet fire station for its annual lunch stop.  An exhilarating route will take the riders along the shores of Lake Winnebago to Sheboygan County and the town of Waldo.  “It was a fantastic turnout along the streets of Waldo, people sitting on their front porches and lawns waving and cheering the last time we just passed through Waldo a few years ago.  I can’t wait to see the reaction when we actually stop there” a previous rider participant said.

The ride will conclude in Boltonville in northern Washington County for dinner and the distribution of fantastic raffle prizes.  Ron Naab will also lead the annual auction of some of the best prizes.

Online registration will begin soon and paper forms will be available as well.  Pre-Registration costs remain steady at $25 for a single and $35 for a “two up”.  The committee continues to look for volunteers to help with this wonderful event and welcomes riders of 2, 3, 4 or as many wheels as you’ve got.  It’s a great way to say thank-you to the brave men & women who so diligently serve our communities.
